We are aware of the President's announcement deeming churches essential. In light of this, and in consideration of our mission and values, we are prayerfully considering how to move toward reopening church. As details unfold, we will remain committed to opening sooner, smaller and safer.
We are also aware of the fact that our Governor is working on a plan to consider churches, so we are watching this closely as we move forward. Meanwhile, let's be praying for our leaders at the state, national and church level. While these are unique days, we know that God is leading us.
Dear Church Family,
Like other churches during this COVID-19 pandemic, Real Life Church is continually making challenging decisions that help keep us on mission, while also considering the safety and well-being of our congregation members. Our goal has always been to provide opportunities for people to get the spiritual and emotional support they need to live healthy lives. The weight of the fear, anxiety, opinions and unknowns is real, and it is felt by our pastors, staff and leadership team. This tension is real, experiences on both sides of it are real, and they matter to us. So to help clarify where we’re at, below are some of the principles guiding us as we move forward with opening Real Life Church.
1. WE ARE CAREFUL, NOT FEARFUL.
2. WE'RE MOVING SOONER, SMALLER, SAFER.
3. WE'RE PRIORITIZING DISCIPLESHIP & EVANGELISM.
Below you'll see more about our phased approach to reopening. While this is our plan, we recognize that things change everyday. Our plan is to move forward with a fluidity that understands that Jesus is ultimately leading us. I truly believe God is about to do some amazing things in and through our church. Having our Sunday normal upended, it may usher in the best discipleship plan the church has ever experienced. Let’s lean in and watch God do great things. We’re with you. The best is yet to come.

SCROLL TO SEE OUR PHASED APPROACH TO REOPENING
As we look ahead, we’re closely monitoring statistics and state guidelines, while staying aware of the pulse of the broader church community. Considering all of these things, we’ve decided to take a phased approach to reopening Real Life Church, with the understanding that things are changing everyday.
*Please note that dates are not included. Each phase aims to go in-step with King County's phases, but we will continue to remain fluid as we step forward, as you’ll see explained below.
Phase 1 - Digital Church
We’re currently in phase one, facilitating church services, groups and other opportunities digitally.
Phase 2 – Digital Church & more
King County's Phase 2 does not include in-person gatherings. We will continue to host online church, with the addition of other digital small group opportunities. While socially distant gatherings of up to 5 are permitted Washington, all of the opportunities we offer will be digital. We may also add drive-in church and other opportunities, so long as we can do so safely, and with the most at-risk in mind.
Phase 3 – Small Gatherings & Digital Church
As we enter this phase, we plan to host small gatherings (with RSVP) for our least at-risk population. These may take place around the community or on our property, and will be done in a thoughtful and safe manner. We will continue to offer online church throughout this phase.
Phase 4 – Larger Gatherings & Digital Church
This phase will include larger gatherings in and beyond our church building, and will likely include limit to the number of people so that we can maintain safety and protect our most at-risk. We will continue to offer online church throughout this phase.
